As a young girl growing up in an Irish neighborhood in Boston, I learned everything I know about baking from my grandmothers, parents, aunts, and neighbors.
The smell of home-baked goods was especially memorable, as those baked goods were truly part of the language of caring for one another. Cakes, cookies, yeast breads, and especially “Irish Bread” as we called it, were the tangible language of love and care.
Always a family favorite, Ms Maureen’s Home Baked Goods became a reality in 2018 when my husband convinced me our recipe for Irish soda bread was just too good not to share with the rest of the world.
Each batch of bread is hand-made made with only the freshest and most carefully selected all-natural ingredients using a recipe my mother in Boston edited from recipes she learned from her mother, relatives, and friends.
